Clifford Torres-Maldonado of North Dakota was arrested on a bench warrant Friday. He was wanted for failing to appear in court this month in a methamphetamine possession case.

Torres-Maldonado, 34, has pleaded not guilty to the misdemeanor drug charge. He was arrested a year or so ago after a traffic stop near his home in Bismarck, ND. According to a probable cause affidavit, an officer found a small bag of meth “stuck inside a cigarette container” belonging to Torres-Maldonado.

He was free on bond following his November 2020 arrest and has pleaded guilty in a separate case to possession of meth and marijuana, child neglect, and possession of drug paraphernalia. In that case, he was sentenced to 18 months of probation and ordered to complete a parenting class.

When he was arrested on Friday, his choice of shirt was a bit fitting. His mugshot shows him wearing a Pinocchio t-shirt, with the words "It Wasn't Me" written on it.

Torres-Maldonado appears to have made bond, since it was only $250, being his name isn't appearing in any inmate rosters in that area.
