UPDATE: Springville Restaurant Now Facing Threats
When news of Sally's on Broadway in Springville getting robbed hit the news, the community was shocked. When it was discovered that over $1,000 from a children's cancer relief fund was stolen, people were angry. The community responded in a HUGE way with donations coming from all over the state. Sally Deeb, the owner of Sally's, gave us big news on Friday morning that over $7,000 had been raised for the Austin Strong Foundation. Well, Sally reached out to us again and has confirmed that after this weekend, that total is up to $10,300! Amazing! But the news was not all great for Sally's.
This letter was attached outside of Sally's over the weekend. It is a copy of an article written about the initial break in, and at the top is a hand-written note.
It reads, "Bad things happen in 3-this one is No.#1, No#2 more will fall this, Sally Deed." First off, the spelling is horrible. Secondly, this is a threat. Who would do such a thing? The original thieves? Or just scum looking for attention? Either way, the police are now involved and investigating the incident.
If anyone thinks they can intimidate Sally, they've got another thing coming! I've said it before and I'll say it again. I don't know anyone with a bigger heart than Sally Deeb. Her willingness to help all of those in need is evident in everything she does. I'll continue to support her and her restaurant. I hope these illiterate fools are caught soon.
If you would like to donate to the Austin Strong Foundation, you can donate at Sally's or on the foundation website.
