University of Iowa Covers Lawn With Flags To Honor Veterans [PHOTOS]
Veterans Day is Saturday and the University of Iowa has done something wonderful to honor veterans tied to the University of Iowa or the Iowa City community.
More than 5,500 American flags, in the shape of a giant "I," are on the lawn in front of the Old Capitol in Iowa City. According to the University of Iowa Facebook page, each flag has a tag showing the name of the veteran, along with their rank, how many years they served their country, and any active-duty tours they were involved with.
So simple, but so beautiful.
Thank you to all our Veterans and their families for the sacrifices they've made on our behalf. Happy Veterans Day to you all!
