Tragic news as two eastern Iowans have been killed in a plane crash in Ohio.

KWQC reports that the plane went down around 4:30 p.m. last Thursday (June 20) just outside of Lima, Ohio. The two victims have now been identified as Tracey Hartnett and Steve Niemann, both of Bellevue, Iowa.

A friend of the Hartnett, Kenvin Bunch, told KWQC that Tracey "was concerned about [the plane ride] and Steve had wanted her to go flying to this job in Ohio ... At the end, her schedule opened up and she said 'Okay, I'll take the job' and they jumped in a plane Thursday and never quite made it". According to Bunch, one of the reasons why Tracey went to take the extra job was to support her family, as she was a single mother to five boys.

Anyone that knows Tracey knows there is only #1 on her list and it was her boys.. . they're gonna have to grow up quicker than anticipated. It's unfortunate but we'll get through it. Only because we have no other choice than to get through it." -Kevin Bunch explained to KWQC.

A date has not yet been set for the memorial service and funeral, but both are being planned in Bellevue. The crash is being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board.

Our thoughts are with the victim's family and friends. We will continue to keep you updated as more information is released.
