Two people have been charged in last week's break-in at A-1 Performance Power Sports on Mt. Vernon Road in Cedar Rapids.

According to the Linn County Sheriff's Office, 45-year-old Jake Hess and 47-year-old Jennifer Mangold have been arrested and charged in the case.

A-1 Performance Power Sports was broken into on either March 5 or 6, according to owner Chuck Hanson. He told KCRG approximately $200,000 in merchandise was stolen, including up to 18 motorcycles and mopeds. The keys and titles to the vehicles were also taken. The business has averaged two break-ins per year over the last half-decade.

In a media release, the Linn County Sheriff's Office says they executed a search warrant on a home at 506 Memorial Drive SE on Monday, March 11. There they located six motorcycles, a scooter, shop tools, equipment, and merchandise from A-1 Performance Power Sports.

According to the Linn County Sheriff's Office website, Jake A. Hess of 506 Memorial Drive SE has been charged with Theft-1st Degree and Burglary-3rd Degree. He also faces charges of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Jennifer Mangold, no known address, is facing charges of Theft-3rd Degree, Revocation Probation, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possessing Contraband, and Providing False Identification Information.

Both are being held at the Linn County Jail. The Linn County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate.
