Improv comedy is a tough format to master. It's not easy to be able to make people laugh on cue, but that's essentially what these performers are tasked with. If you're as good as the guys coming to Cedar Rapids next fall, you can make a long career out of it. If you're a fan of the long-running TV series "Whose Line is It Anyway" you're no doubt familiar with these kings of the genre.

After two years of a pandemic and all the serious, life-altering chaos in the news affecting us all, it's true we could all use a good laugh! An exciting show was just announced for Cedar Rapids as some of the funniest people on the planet will be appearing in person at the Paramount Theatre!

"Whose Line is it Anyway" is the "show where everything is made up and the points don't matter". It has been hosted over the years by both Drew Carey and Aisha Tyler and the live version is like watching the show without the commercial breaks. CREventsLive says:

Prepare to laugh until you cry when four of the world’s most masterful improv artists take you on the high wire act of comedic acrobatics. The rapid-fire wit and non-stop jokes will have your sides splitting and begging for mercy…and also begging for more.

"Whose Live Anyway" will feature longtime series regulars Ryan Stiles and Greg Proops as well as fellow Improv comics and occasional co-stars Jeff B. Davis and Joel Murray.

Tickets go on sale Monday, May 23, for the show on October 19.

LOOK: 50 famous memes and what they mean

With the infinite number of memes scattered across the internet, it's hard to keep track. Just when you've grasped the meaning of one hilarious meme, it has already become old news and replaced by something equally as enigmatic. Online forums like Tumblr, Twitter, 4chan, and Reddit are responsible for a majority of meme infections, and with the constant posting and sharing, finding the source of an original meme is easier said than done. Stacker hunted through internet resources, pop culture publications, and databases like Know Your Meme to find 50 different memes and what they mean. While the almost self-replicating nature of these vague symbols can get exhausting, memes in their essence can also bring people closer together—as long as they have internet access.
