Iowa funnyman Tom Arnold has been doing something great for students in his home state of Iowa for 29 years. Arnold, who was born in Ottumwa in 1959, has been awarding scholarships to two students attending Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa every year since 1991. He graduated from the college in 1981, before attending the University of Iowa from 1981 to 1983.

According to KTVO, Arnold has announced McKensi Ensminger of Mount Pleasant and Selina Bono from Ottumwa are the winners of the 2019-20 scholarships. The full-ride scholarships include room and board, books, tuition, and fees.

Every year, students interested in the scholarships must submit an essay of between 500 and 1,000 words, based on a theme that Tom chooses. This year, the theme was "Trust... what does it mean to you?" A committee at Indian Hills goes over all the entries, but Arnold actually chooses each year's winners.

In 29 years of awarding scholarships, the Tom Arnold Scholarship has given away 58 full-ride scholarships to Indian Hills. Well done, Tom, and congrats to this year's winners.
