Thursday’s Iowa Pick 3 Numbers: 666, The Number Of The Beast

That's it, I'm done playing the Iowa Pick 3 game. I just can't, I'm too scared!

The winning numbers for Thursday, February 28th were 6-6-6. That's right, "The Number of the Beast," 6-6-6. I don't know about you, but I'm a little freaked out.

According to Wikipedia, "The devils number is a term in the Book of Revelation, of the New Testament, that is associated with the Beast of Revelation in chapter 13, verse 1.

If I had a winning ticket with those numbers, I'd throw it in the trash. That number has always scared me and I want nothing to do with any of that bad juju. I'd feel like I was selling my sole to the devil!

According to the Iowa Lottery's web page, there were 150 individual winners. If you paid $1 for a "straight ticket," it would be worth $600. Not a bad payday, but not enough cash for me to sell my sole.

Iowa Lottery spokesperson Mary Neubauer told me, "The Pick 3 game is designed to allow a combination of three identical numbers to be selected in its drawings, and as the latest results show, it definitely can happen! Now, some folks may think 6-6-6 has some extra meaning, but it's another combination in the game, just like all the others. We hope it was a winning night for a lot of folks."

I'm not joking, if I had a winning ticket, I couldn't cash it in. It would go right in the trash and I'd forget it ever happened. I have enough bad luck, I don't need anymore.
