Tuesday was a very difficult day for motorcycle drivers around Linn County. According to releases from the Linn County Sheriff's Office, there were three separate accidents over a 12-hour period. The motorcycle drivers in each crash suffered, at least, serious injuries.

The first accident happened at 8:22 Tuesday morning at the intersection of Highway 151 (Williams Blvd) and Dean Rd SW, in rural Cedar Rapids. Authorities say 21-year-old Ann Marie Mundy of Cedar Rapids was driving a 2010 Hyundai Accent and pulled onto Highway 151, and into the path of 29-year-old Mike Ray Crumm of Cedar Rapids. Crumm was driving a 1996 Suzuki motorcycle. He suffered serious injuries and was taken to Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Mundy received minor injuries. She's been charged with failing to yield to through traffic upon making a left turn, with additional charges pending.

Tuesday afternoon at 1:42, emergency personnel responded to a call of a single-vehicle motorcycle crash at Covington Road and Vinton Street in Palo. 18-year-old Isabel Pounders of Tiffin had lost control of the 2014 Meiduo motorcycle she was driving, and ended up in the ditch. Pounders was taken to Unity Point Health/St. Luke's Hospital with serious injuries. She was not wearing a helmet. Authorities continue to investigate, with charges pending.

Tuesday evening at 8:24, emergency personnel, including LifeGuard Air Ambulance, responded to a motorcycle crash at the Highway 13 southbound ramp to the Highway 30 eastbound ramp. 21-year-old Ontario Deshawn Taylor of Cedar Rapids lost control of the 2006 Suzuki K6R GSX-R600KG motorcycle he was driving. He hit the guardrail as he was taking the exit and suffered life-threatening injuries, He was taken by LifeGuard Air Ambulance to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. He was wearing a helmet. The investigation continues.
