And it only took seven minutes!

We are officially less than a week away from the solar eclipse, and people all over the country are preparing themselves. There are many eclipse parties and events going on across Eastern Iowa, but you can't fully participate in any of them without special eclipse glasses.

It was announced last week that specific libraries in Iowa would be supplied with free eclipse glasses, including the Marion Public Library. The Marion Public Library starting giving theirs away at 9:30 a.m. yesterday, and within seven minutes they had handed out all 600 pairs they had been supplied with. Hopefully you weren't counting on them for your glasses, because if so, you're out of luck! If you plan on attending the library's eclipse event next Monday, they did say that they put aside 150 pairs for that. It will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the parking lot.

If you were unable to secure a free pair of glasses, you can always order some on Amazon. Since they sent out warnings to buyers on Saturday, they have put safety requirements in place so the glasses recommended for purchase are all certified. Unfortunately, they are going to cost you some money. You can check out the glasses HERE.

If you know of any other places to snag a pair of certified eclipse glasses, feel free to leave them in the comments!
