Sunday morning, I woke up early and decided to grab a coffee and take a drive. I ended up at one of my favorite spots in Cedar Rapids, The Czech Village.

I've always been a fan of this historic part of the city. Fun little shops, cool bars and great food. I'm so happy the flood of 2016 didn't wipe it all out.

That morning, I saw business owners cleaning up and moving items back in their establishments. It was great to see this. The flood is over, and now it's time to get back to work for these people.

Most of the shops were still closed as of Sunday morning. But, with all the work I saw being accomplished, it won't be long until The Czech Village is back to normal.

I did notice the Sykora Bakery was open. I had to stop and have one of their world famous chocolate chunk cookies. This bakery has been in business since 1903 in Cedar Rapids. The cookie was great, they always are!

I'm glad the flood of 2016 wasn't as bad as we thought it was going to be. It seems like things are slowing getting back to normal in The Czech Village. Now go get a cookie, I'll talk to you tomorrow on The KRNA Morning Show!
