Election Day 2016 is less than four months away, and registered voters in Linn County will soon receive a special mailing from the Linn County Auditor's Office.

The Auditor's Office is sending new voter ID cards and some important information about the November 8 General Election, which is obviously also a Presidential Election. Those cards should start landing in mailboxes today. Here's what to expect.

1. Your new voter ID card will not only remind you of your polling place but also your precinct, election districts, and party affiliation.
2. If you've moved since the last time you voted, the card will include your updated voter registration records.
3. The card will also provide you with key dates and information about the upcoming Presidential Election.
