RoughRiders Host 1st Annual Dash For Cash Saturday

The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders host their in-state rival Des Moines Buccaneers Saturday night.

The team will also host their 1st Annual Dash for Cash promotion at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena.

During the 1st intermission,one contestant from six area schools will have 60 seconds to dash for cash. A total $2,500 in cold cash will be on the rink, thanks to Hills Bank. All the money collected by contestants (who will all be “dashing” at the same time) will be donated back to their respective schools.

The schools participating are Westfield Elementary, Bowman Woods Elementary, Prairie Creek Intermediate, Prairie Hill Elementary, Pierce Elementary and Harding Middle School.

It's also Teacher Appreciation Night. The RoughRiders will have gifts from local sponsors for teachers all night long in addition to providing a discounted ticket for teachers.
