One Big Difference You’ll See When Pumpkin Spice Returns to Eastern Iowa
Ahh, do you smell that in the air? SNIFF SNIFF, it's... pumpkin spice season. Look, you may dislike pumpkin spice products. You may despise 'em. But here's one thing I think all Iowans can agree on: it's a sure sign fall is upon us, and that's a reason to celebrate!
If you or someone in your life is big into all things pumpkin spice, you'll likely be thrilled to hear that the Starbucks pumpkin spice lineup returns to Iowa tomorrow, August 30, returning to stores for the 19th straight year.
There will be one... large difference. And no, I don't mean Starbucks has changed the ounces in a Venti. I mean, this year's round of pumpkin-spiced goodies will hit you a little harder in the ol' pocketbook.
So what's up with the cost increases? Well, Business Insider says the reason is pretty simple: inflation.
We've all been hearing this dreaded "I" word for several months and, its impacts have hit most consumers in some way shape, or form. Perhaps this is the straw that will break the camel's back for you.
How much more will my PSL latte cost?
So when I say "price bump", what are we looking at? The Business Insider article says we can all expect to pay 4% more compared to 2021.
While Starbucks costs vary from store to store, your grande-sized (medium) pumpkin spice latte will likely cost between $5.45 and $5.95 in 2022. Of course, modifications like almond milk or an extra shot of espresso will bump up the costs.
Does this put the cost of a PSL out of reach for you? Are you still willing to doll out the dollars to get your fix? If so, tomorrow is a big day for you! Oops sorry, I mean a grande day, of course.
