According to KCRG TV 9, "A protest is set for this Saturday in Cedar Rapids to put a focus on police brutality after last week's death of George Floyd."

The demonstration will start at 5 p.m. and end at 8 p.m. There is Facebook page that has all of the details that you can view by clicking right here.

The page said, "Organizers are encouraging folks to make signs, wear a mask, and practice social distancing." There will be a short briefing before the march as well as an open mic for about 45 minutes.

It looks like there is a good number of people taking part in Saturdays demonstration. As I write this, the page indicated there are over 1,000 people that have clicked attending and over 4,000 interested.

For the most part, the protesting here in Cedar Rapids has been very peaceful will very few issues. The people here in Eastern Iowa are showing the rest of the world there doesn't need to be violence to take a stand.

I covered the protest last week that started at the Paramount in downtown Cedar Rapids. There were about 400 people that were a part of the demonstration.  There were no arrests and no looting. I've included the photos from that event at the bottom of this story.

If you plan to attend this Saturday, please be safe. And to read the full story from KCRG, you can click on this link.
