Possible Life-Threatening Injuries from Crash on Highway 151
A two-vehicle crash involving a car and motorcycle injured a Cedar Rapids man this morning.
Linn County Sheriff's Deputies, the Fairfax Fire Department, Lifeguard Air Ambulance, and the Benton County Sheriff's Office all responded to the accident at 6:47 this morning at the corner of Highway 151 and Commercial Drive in Walford.
Todd Mullenax, 47, of Cedar Rapids, was riding a 2007 Harley-Davidson southbound on Highway 151 when he attempted to turn west onto Commercial Drive. He was rear-ended by Anthony Carter Jr., 21, of Cedar Rapids, who was driving a 2004 Acura.
The Linn County Sheriff's Department reports Mullenax wasn't wearing a helmet and was transported by Area Ambulance Service to University of Iowa Hospitals, with what appeared to be life-threatening injuries. Carter was wearing a seatbelt and was uninjured.
The Linn County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the accident, with charges pending.
