Back in July, American Pickers star Mike Wolfe took to social media to ask fans to pray for Iowa native and his Pickers co-star Frank Fritz. Wolfe revealed that Fritz had suffered a stroke and was hospitalized. He asked fans to send their prayers to Fritz. We are now learning details on just how severe Fritz's stroke was.

Fritz, a native of Davenport, Iowa, has reportedly been placed under temporary guardianship following his stroke from earlier this year. The Des Moines Register reports that a petition for guardianship filed in August states that due to the stroke, "Mr. Fritz’s decision-making capacity is so impaired that he is unable to care for his own safety, or to provide for necessities such as food, shelter, clothing, or medical care." The Register reports that Fritz is unable to "make, communicate, or carry out important decisions concerning his own financial affairs."

The Register reports that Fritz was found unresponsive in his home back on July 14th. He was rushed to a Davenport hospital. He was released to a rehabilitation facility in August where he continues his recovery. A longtime friend has been appointed as Fritz's guardian but declined to make their identity known to the Register. A local bank has taken control of Fritz's finances.

The Register reports that a friend of Fritz's says that he is grateful for all the prayers and well wishes, and that he continues to get better every day. We all wish Frank the best and look forward to the day when he can return to work and do all the things that make him happy.
