Parents Angry as Stores Run Out of Baby Formula

I can't imagine having a newborn baby right now, considering the supply chain issues we continue to have. The latest product that is disappearing from shelves is baby formula, something that I can remember being worth its weight in gold.

When Chase was born 17 years ago we quickly discovered that he had some issues with acid reflux. We tried many different kinds of formula, but there was only ONE on the market that he would keep down. I'm sure many other parents remember this too.

The only problem with it? While normal formula cost around $12 per container, this kind cost $25 per can. Not exactly what we were expecting as new parents. But at least we were able to FIND the formula we needed. Due to supply chain issues, some parents can't find the formula they need to feed their babies!

KETV reports that market research shows that infant formula supplies in mid-January were down 17% from where they were in February of 2020, just before the pandemic shut down stores across the nation. Some stores, including Walgreens, sent out alerts to customers back in November about the possible shortages of infant formula. Things haven't improved since then.

A spokesperson with Amazon said that the retailer is working with vendors to get the formula back in stock as soon as possible, according to KETV. Wal-Mart said that any shortages of infant formula are on the manufacturer's end. These are just words to parents who are having to drive up to two hours away just to find the food to feed their babies.
