Listening to NBA Draft experts talk before the actual draft is entertaining. They're just sure they know where each player is headed and why. Many draft prognosticators had at least one Iowa State Cyclone going in the first round. That didn't happen, but two former Cyclones went in round two.

Talen Horton-Tucker was once considered a first-round talent, but he slipped to the middle of round two last night. The Orlando Magic selected him with the 46th pick and then traded his right to the Los Angeles Lakers. The 6 foot 4-inch Horton-Tucker averaged 12 points and 5 rebounds in his one season in Ames. Draft experts like his athletic ability and wingspan, but say he may spend some time in the G-League during his rookie season.

Another Cyclone player who spent only one season in Ames was also drafted Thursday. Marial Shayok was selected number 54 overall by the Philadelphia 76ers. Shayok was a first-team All-Big 12 selection after averaging better than 18 points and 5 rebounds last year at ISU. Draft experts aren't sure if Shayok will stick with the 76ers or land with another team via a 2-way contract.
