Outdoor Concert Season Arrives in Cedar Rapids
It's been a brutal, cold, cooped-up, shutdown Winter. But things are looking up.Spring turns into summer and one of the first big signs of the season is the opening of McGrath Amphitheatre in Cedar Rapids for a full slate of open-air concerts.
It all starts Friday, May 17th. Two incredible local acts will take the stage, headlined by Slap 'N Tickle, with special guests Speedboat Jesus.
The Cedar Rapids Jaycees put these shows on every summer, rain or shine, on scheduled Friday nights with doors opening at 5:30 and the entertainment kicking off at 6 p.m. Check the full schedule of 21-and-over shows that are just $5 for admission, which supports the Jaycees community programs like the scholarship fund.
Then, the following night, it's literally a Saturday in the park with Rock & Roll Hall of Fame legends Chicago. They will start at 8 p.m. on Saturday night, May 18th. Tickets are still available through Ticketmaster and, on Monday, May 13th, KDAT will announce our winners of the "Spend Mother's Day with Mom and Chicago" ticket giveaway.
We can't wait!
