One Person Dead After Single Vehicle Crash in Linn County
[UPDATED] The Linn County Sheriff's Office says 32-year-old Colby Stepanek of rural Fairfax was killed in the Thursday evening accident in rural Linn County.
[ORIGINAL STORY] Linn County Sheriff's officials say that one person has died following a single-vehicle crash Thursday night in Linn County.
KCRG reports that numerous agencies including the Linn County Sheriff's department, Linn County Sheriff Rescue, Fairfax fire department, and Area Ambulance responded to a single-vehicle crash on Linn Johnson Road at 34th street at approximately 7:22 p.m. Thursday night. Crews at the scene discovered that a Nissan Altima had lost control, left the roadway, entered the north ditch, and struck a utility pole.
Officials say that the driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. KCRG reports that the victim was wearing their seatbelt at the time of the accident. There were no passengers in the vehicle. The identity of the victim is not being released at this time.
