An apparent drive-by shooting late Saturday night has left one person dead and three others injured in a frightening scene at a mobile home residence in Hiawatha.

Witnesses reported hearing multiple shots fired at the Sunset Village Mobile Homes off Robins Rd around 11:40 p.m. Police quickly responded to the scene and found four shooting victims.

According to KCRG and Iowa's News Now, 31 year old Josh Lathrop of Hiawatha was killed in the gunfire and was pronounced dead on the scene. The three other gunshot victims were rushed to area hospitals, their conditions are unknown at this time.

A video showing first responders attending three of the bleeding victims was posted but then removed from social media, due to the graphic nature of the content. It was reported the video included footage of responders performing CPR on one of those victims. Witnesses in the video described the incident as a drive-by shooting.

Both KCRG and Iowa's News Now say police have given no information about possible suspects or motives. They have not yet made any arrests, and are asking the public to help with the investigation by contacting the Hiawatha Police with any relevant information.

Residents have described the neighborhood as once quiet and safe, but this is the third incident of gun violence in this area of Hiawatha in the past year.
