How far into your homestead can police in Waterloo go to arrest you? Not your porch, in this case. ABC News snagged an AP report on a decision from the Iowa Supreme Court.

The case centered around Porcher Patience Paye. She appealed her public intox [not to be confused with LeBron James pubic intox last night] charge from an incident in 2013. Ms. Paye blew a 0.267 blood alcohol level after Waterloo Police gave a breathalyzer at her home. Her appeal claimed her front porch wasn't a public place, therefore a public intox charge should not have happened. The Supreme Court agreed, ruling that someone's front steps are not public if the homeowner hasn't invited anyone to be there.

Good move, IA court system. Now, we can all crack one open on the portable barka lounger out front. Mama always warned us. "Kenny Wayne and Stevie Ray...get on off the porch and get your asses out on the front lawn if you want to get arrested...."

Speaking of Porch, it's one of PJ's best tunes. Let's play that now here in the Sharkosis Bloggosphere.
