Now We Can’t Smoke While Golfing?

What the hell, Cedar Rapids?

I just read an article that said last week, the city's Parks, Waterways and Recreation Commission voted to ban smoking (both traditional and electronic) in the city's parks, trails, and golf courses.

Now I don't smoke cigarettes, but I do enjoy the occasional cigar. I also enjoy golfing. Sometimes I do both at the same time. Now, thanks to some city officials, I can't. In fact, if I do, I could get a $50 fine.

I get the bans on indoor smoking -- my dad owned a bar in CR for 40 years, and that smoke can be irritating, plus a hassle to clean off of everything it sticks to.

But a ban on outdoor smoking on a golf course?!?!? C'mon, Cedar Rapids!
