Marion Superintendent Shares Intent for All Metro Districts [LISTEN]

With coronavirus concerns spreading throughout the U.S. and here in Iowa, Cedar Rapids schools discuss plans.

We spoke with Marion Superintendent Janelle Brouwer this morning regarding what the metro districts intent is at this time to deal with coronavirus concerns. Brouwer informs us that the situation is evolving and the that metro's superintendents are working collaboratively on the situation.

She shares that they are also monitoring updates from the CDC, Iowa Department of Public Health, Linn County Public Health, and the Iowa Department of Education, and that the current recommendation is for schools to remain in session. Students and staff would return as planned following spring break. Hear more details in the clip below.

Brouwer states that the situation is evolving and they are, and will continue to, monitor. This is the intent of all metro districts at this time. Input from the governor is anticipated to arrive later today.
