A Kentucky man, who has asked to remain anonymous, cashed in a winning Powerball ticket worth $2 million.

Lottery officials said the morning after the drawing, the winner got a text from a friend reminding him to check his ticket.

“So that’s what I did. I looked at it and sure enough, it was a winner. The rest is history,” he said. “I thought I was having a heart attack."

The winning ticket matched the first 5 numbers, but not the Powerball. He won $1M from the correct guess, but also paid a dollar extra for the Power Play, doubling his prize to $2M.

He says he's been playing the same numbers for the last several years. The winning combination came from a movie, which he didn't name, where the main character wins the lottery.

After taxes, the winner received a check for $1,420,000.

He said with his winnings, he's retiring for good.
