It's time to take a break from the 2016 flood coverage. We all need a distraction. So, let's talk about PIZZA! I love pizza, we all love pizza, who doesn't love pizza?!

The other day I was driving down the mean streets of Cedar Rapids. Edgewood Road to be exact. I looked up and noticed a sign that read: “PIZZA SO GOOD YOU'LL WANNA SLAP YO MAMA.” I was a little shocked. Was this a mistake? A disgruntled employee? Maybe it's just really good pizza?

I love pizza. It's one of my favorite meals and it can be eaten at any hour of the day. I'm just not sure I want a pizza this good. I love my Mother. She’s always been there for me. The thought of slapping her makes me very sad. What did “Mama” do to deserve this?

Is “SLAPPING YOUR MAMA” some new catch phrase that I don't know about? If so, it's news to me. Perhaps it could be slang for good pizza. I hope somebody can help me on this. I used to be hip...but not so much anymore. I'm 40 years old, wake up every day before the sun, and I live with a cat named Squeaks. (true story, but he's a cool cat)

I thought about stopping and trying the pizza. But what if I loved it? I was very hungry at the time, but all I could think about was Mom. Everything she has done for me over the last fourty years. I just couldn't do it. It would also be a hassle to go slap her as she lives 312 miles from Cedar Rapids.

I would like to see the sign changed. I'm not an advertising executive, so I'll leave this up to you. Fill in the blank: “PIZZA SO GOOD YOU'LL WANNA ….........................

We can discuss this on the KRNA Morning Show this week. I’ll pick one winner, and that person will receive a virtual high five from yours truly, Jaymz Larson.

Thanks for reading this blog. Now please take out your phone and call Mom. She would love to hear from you.

We now return you to flood coverage here on  94.1 KRNA. I hope the weather people get this one wrong. Let’s all say a prayer for our city, and the rest of the Corridor. But first, have a slice of pizza. It’s been a long week and you deserve it.
