If you have a child that is interested in playing hockey, this is the weekend to give it a try. And it won't cost you a dime! Thanks to USA Hockey's 'Try Hockey Program' young skaters can hit the ice at the Cedar Rapids ice arena this weekend for free.

There will be two free clinics for kids ages 4 to 9. Kids will learn some basic hockey skills while out on the ice. Equipment like sticks, pucks, and skates will be provided. Parents are asked that their kids bring along a bike helmet and some winter gloves.

The first clinic is Saturday from noon to 1 p.m. with the second clinic running from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. For more information on the 'Try Hockey Program' and to register for Saturday's event click HERE.
