How Does Caitlin Clark Want to Score Her First WNBA Bucket? [WATCH]
Caitlin Clark was the first overall draft pick in the 2024 WNBA draft and the Iowa native will be sticking close to home.
As you've surely heard by now, Caitlin Clark will be playing for the Indiana Fever this season and the Fever has likely added 3 million Iowans to its fanbase. The Fever may gain millions more fans now that Caitlin Clark's jersey is being sold in Dick's Sporting Goods stores across the country. This would make Caitlin Clark the first female athlete to have her jersey sold in all 724 Dick's Sporting Goods in America.
Caitlin Clark left the University of Iowa as the number 1 scorer in college basketball history, she won multiple Player of the Year awards, and she has her record-breaking shot cemented at Carver-Hawkeye Arena forever.
Will Caitlin go on to break records and win championships in the WNBA? Only time will tell. The Fever begin their preseason schedule this Friday, May 3rd, and begin their regular season schedule on May 14th. Barring any strange accident, Caitlin will certainly start for the Fever which means she has a chance to score her first WNBA bucket early in her first game.
First WNBA Bucket
What would be the ideal shot for her first WNBA points if Caitlin had her choice? If you watched Caitlin during her time at the University of Iowa, you probably wouldn't be shocked by her answer.
Of course, Caitlin wants to hit a deep three-pointer. It would be so fitting and an incredible 'welcome to the WNBA' moment for her, her family, her fans, and the Indiana Fever.
What About You?
If you were going to play professional basketball, how would you want to score your first career points? I think it'd be awesome to catch an alley-oop or throw down a massive dunk over someone.
Do you know the worst way to get your first professional points? It has to be goaltending. You don't even get to see the ball go in the hoop. A free throw wouldn't be very exciting either but at least you'd get to watch the ball go through the hoop.
Hopefully, Caitlin's wish comes true and fans see tons of deep threes from Caitlin as she begins her career in the WNBA. The Indiana Fever begin their regular season schedule on May 14th against the Connecticut Sun
