What Gennings Dunker East on an Average Game Day
A Facebook post that details Gennings Dunker's food regimen on game day has gotten a lot of attention. He actually shared this information with Hawkeye fans during his senior season in Iowa City. The 6'5", 320-pound offensive lineman needs to add some serious carbs and protein prior to battling in the trenches. Here is his detailed breakdown, including the night before the game!
- The Night Before - 5:30 pm - 2–3 servings of pasta with meat marinara, a basket of bread rolls, a 12oz steak, and 2 servings of fruit.
- The Night Before - 8:30 pm snack - 3 full hamburgers, 3 bags of Baked Lay’s potato chips, hot chocolate, and various hydration mixes.
- Game Day Morning - 7:15 am - 4 slices of toast, 2 large bowls of Wheaties, a stack of pancakes, and 2 chicken breasts.
- Game Day Morning - 9 am - 4 more slices of toast and 1 additional chicken breast.
And if that isn't enough, for his post-game meal, Gennings has been known to hit up his favorite fast food restaurant, Culver's, and order a double bacon cheeseburger, family-sized cheese curds, onion rings, and a minimum of three sides of ranch dressing!
If you're thinking that's an insane number of calories, you're right. We can't even calculate it. But offensive linemen need to eat this much to stay as big as they are. When Gennings' playing days are over...so is this diet!
