A Local Coffee Shop is Opening a Second Location in a Cedar Rapids Restaurant

The Pines Pizza and Pub in Cedar Rapids will be sharing its space with a popular local coffee shop in the near future! According to a recent Facebook post, Deja Brew Coffee House & Bakery is coming soon to Cedar Rapids.

About The Pines Pizza and Pub

Located at 4100 River Ridge Dr NE in Cedar Rapids, the Pines Pizza and Pub took over the building that used to be home to Vito's on 42nd. When Vito's closed in April of 2022, it was quickly replaced by Flano's on 42nd, which opened just a few weeks later. But, the changes didn't end there. In October of that same year, Flano's on 42nd became The Pines Pizza & Pub. There wasn't really a reason given for the name change, but it was reported that the restaurant had "the same ownership and staff, but completely new management." It has remained the Pines Pizza and Pub ever since!

About Deja Brew Coffee House & Bakery

Deja Brew Coffee House & Bakery is located at 1150 Tall Grass Ave in Tiffin, but it actually got its start as a coffee trailer. According to the Cedar Rapids Gazette, the business opened their first brick-and-mortar location in Oxford in December of 2022. Then, last summer, the coffee shop relocated back to Tiffin with its signature drinks and "an expanded menu for breakfast, lunch, and baked goods."

How Will Things Work in the Shared Space?

According to the Facebook post from Deja Brew Coffee House & Bakery, their second location will be "nestled perfectly inside the beautiful Pines Pizza and Pub." As of right now, we don't have a ton of additional information, but they promise "many more details to come." The post reads:

"... please know that the Pines will continue to be a strong standing force in CR with its original hours and menus. Deja will operate opposite hours! This is a big one folks, make sure to follow for updates! We ARE NOT OPEN YET!!"

You can check out Deja Brew's official Facebook page HERE for the latest updates, but if you simply can't wait to give them a try, you can always check out the Tiffin location when it reopens on January 12th! The hours are Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

As mentioned above, the Pines Pizza and Pub will continue business as usual! They're open Monday through Thursday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. You can check out their menu online HERE.
