Another round of hot temperatures will settle in this week. A dip in the swimming pool would sure feel good right about now. But in Cedar Rapids, your options are dwindling, just like the days left in your kid's summer vacation.

Three Cedar Rapids pools closed for the year late last week. Bever Pool closed last Thursday and Ellis and Jones pools closed their doors on Friday. The reason for the closures are well founded. Pool attendance has dipped nearly 30% from July to early August. Plus, with high school aged kids getting ready to head back to school, finding enough kids to work hours at the pools has also become a challenge.

If you just have to go for a final swim before school starts there are still city pools that are remaining open. The Cherry Hil pool will remain open through August 28th. The Noelridge Park pool will stay open through Labor Day, September 5th. However, the pools will have reduced hours. They'll be closed weekends after August 22nd.
