Iowa’s NIT Game Time for Wednesday Night Has Been Changed

The NCAA has announced a change in Iowa's Wednesday night first-round NIT game. Iowa's game will now begin at 8 p.m., instead of 6. Why? Blame the weather.

Iowa's game against South Dakota had to be moved because of a postponement of an NIT game tonight. The UNC Greensboro-Syracuse game has been moved to Wednesday night, due to today's East Coast snowstorm.

The game itself should be a competitive one. South Dakota is 22-11 on the season, and won the Summit League regular season title, before losing in the conference tournament. That loss broke a seven-game winning streak. The Coyotes are one of only six teams in the nation to average at least 25 free throws per game. They also feature two first-team all conference players, Matt Mooney and Tyler Flack. Iowa fans will also see a familiar face. Former Hawkeye Trey Dickerson is a member of the South Dakota team. He was named to the Summit League's All-Newcomer team this season.

The 8 p.m. tip between Iowa and South Dakota Wednesday night will still be televised by ESPN 2. If Iowa wins, they'll host the winner of the TCU-Fresno State game. The date for that possible second-round game hasn't been announced.
