Iowa guard Brady Ellingson announced last month that he would be transferring out of the Iowa basketball program. He announced on Monday that he wouldn't be moving very far away from Iowa City.

Ellingson announced via Twitter that he will be attending Drake and playing for the Bulldogs next season. Since he is a graduate transfer who already has a degree he doesn't have to sit out a year and is eligible to play right away for new Drake coach Darian DeVries. Ellingson played in 94 career games for Iowa and averaged around 3 points per game last season. He was the second transfer announcement for Drake this offseason, joining former UAB guard Nick Norton in joining the Bulldogs.

Ellingson is the latest Iowa connection to join the Drake program. Last week, former Hawkeye Matt Gatens was hired as the Bulldogs' Director of Basketball Operations.
