A team out of San Antonio, Texas just signed up for a 1st of December to remember, and not in a good way.

Would you take $300,000 to take a beating?

When the Iowa State football team had a lightning cancellation of their first game this season, against non-FBS powerhouse South Dakota State, who knew they would add an even bigger cupcake to replace that game on their schedule?

We Are Iowa news reports the Cyclones will take on another FCS (aka Division 2, 3, or in this case, possibly 13) team by the name of "The University of Incarnate Word". WHO?!

This seems like a textbook example the type of team everyone jokes about teams playing to pad their schedules and records. But it's not fake news, it's real.

The game will take place December 1st at 1 p.m., and if you had tickets to the South Dakota State game, they will be "honored" at this game. Should ISU make the Big 12 title game, also scheduled to be played that day, the Incarnate Word contest will be cancelled.

Good luck Cardinals. And good luck Cyclones. Iowa State is an up-and-coming team that has shown lots of improvement. A game like this doesn't seem like a worthy test of that progress.
