Iowa State Fans Watching on TV Will Be Heard Inside Jack Trice Saturday

Saturday will be a very unique day inside Jack Trice Stadium in Ames where the 23rd ranked Iowa State Cyclones take on the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns in the season opener. No fans will be allowed inside the stadium, but that doesn't mean Cyclone Nation won't be heard. Here's how both the players and a national television audience will be able to hear you while you're cheering at home.

Iowa State University has teamed up with Hear Me Cheer, a platform that will let fans hook up devices to record them as they cheer. That audio will then be included with that of thousands of other fans and combined into one audio stream that will be piped through the sound system at Jack Trice Stadium. The players will be able to hear it on the field, as will the nationwide television audience.

You CAN turn your microphone off during the game. One color (pink) is live and another (grey) is muted. KCCI reports you can use a tablet, computer, or cell phone to record your audio.

Anyone thinking Iowa State will have an easy opener better think again. Louisiana was 11-3 a year ago and is picked to finished first in the Western Division of the Sun Belt Conference this year, according to game notes released from the Iowa State Sports Information Department. Saturday's game kicks off at 11 a.m. on ESPN.
