Iowa Education System Makes The Grade Again
It's almost back-to-school time!
August 23 is the big day for the kids in Cedar Rapids, and if you're hopeful and optimistic about the upcoming year, you should be. Rest assured, they are in great hands.
This is according to a new survey, done by WalletHub, ranking "2018's States With The Best School Systems". Academics have always been at the forefront in Iowa and it shows with this ranking.
WalletHub compiled their findings by comparing 50 states and the District of Columbia across 25 key metrics, which included highest/lowest dropout rate, highest/lowest test scores in reading, Math, ACT and SAT scores, pupil-to-teacher ratio and more.
The Top 5 states with the best school systems were: Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, New Jersey and topping the list was Massachusetts.
Iowa didn't do so bad itself, coming in at number 16. You can see a map of the rankings below. Hover the cursor over each state to see where it stands.
It would certainly be nice to bring our ranking back to an even higher level, but we have a lot to be proud of. Have a great school year!
