KCRG reports that due to the unpredictably of the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, grocery chain Hy-Vee will temporarily not accept returns of products that would normally be able to be restocked.

Chairman, CEO, and president Randy Edeker states that because they can not be certain of what has happened after products have left the store, they are taking this step to ensure the health and safety of their staff and the public.

However, exchanges on fresh products like produce, meat, or deli items, that are not up to standards will still be conducted. Defective versions of these items would not be restocked, so it is safe to exchange them for a better quality product.

Rainchecks have also been temporarily discontinued due to increased demand and decreased availability of many products at this time.
