Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit Leads To Drug Arrest
A Wichita Falls, Texas teen is behind bars after his order at Whataburger stunk a little more than what it should have.
According to an affidavit, two investigators in the Drug Enforcement Division of the Wichita County District Attorney’s Office were grabbing lunch at a Whataburger on Tuesday morning.
Because the lobby was closed, one of the investigators walked into the drive-thru area to check the menu board because he wanted to "check the calorie count of a Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit."
That's when he smelled the smelly smell of the sticky-icky coming from a car in the drive-thru.
According to an affidavit, authorities waited until the car was pulling out of the drive-thru and lit them up and pulled them over. The officer asked the driver, identified as 17-year-old Donovan Meadows, how much marijuana was in the car.
Donovan responded by saying "This much" and handing him a lit joint.
The joint obviously tested positive for marijuana.
Authorities then conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle, and Meadows alerted officers there may be a firearm in the vehicle because his sister has a license to carry.
According to the affidavit, authorities did find a black Glock under the drivers seat.
Meadows was charged with possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces and unlawful possession of a firearm. His bonds total $2,500.
