I was robbed, and here's what happened.

The incident happened on Wednesday, June 5th. I parked my vehicle on 2nd Street in downtown Cedar Rapids around 3 p.m. When I came back a few hours later, I realized someone had robbed me blind!

Missing from my car was a laptop, an envelope with concert tickets, a box that was heading to the post office and some loose change that was in the console. It was gone, I and thought there was nothing I could do.

But I visited a couple of nearby businesses looking for clues. Nobody had seen anything, but one of the businesses was willing to show me their surveillance cameras from the day the theft happened.

We scrubbed through the video, and finally found what we were looking for. At exactly 5:38 p.m., the man in this picture opened my passenger door and started his own personal shopping spree. He was there for almost 4 minutes. He made it look like it was his own car!

The video is crystal clear, but I'm unable to share that with you in this blog. I did get this photo, and that's what we have for now. CRPD will be able to view the video and they are currently investigating my case.

If you could do me a favor and share this blog, I would really appreciate it. People like this should be caught and thrown in jail. I sure hope that police will find him and I can get my personal items back.

Today is a better day, and I now it's time to move on! We have some of the best officers here in the "City of Five Seasons," and it's in their hands now.

Wish me luck, and remember to ALWAYS LOCK YOUR DOORS!
