The old saying in college basketball is "live by the three, die by the three." Iowa lived well on Sunday from beyond the arc as the three ball was alive and well in a 95-71 win over the Fighting Illini. It was Iowa's fifth straight win as they improved to 16-3 overall, 5-3 in Big Ten play.

Just how well did Iowa shoot the three? How about an astounding 15 of 21 from downtown, or 71%. Iowa shot 68% overall for the day, both figures are highs under head coach Fran McCaffery. Iowa got big games from Isiah Moss, Jordan Bohannon, and Luka Garza, but the big story was the freshman Joe Wieskamp.

Wieskamp was perfect on Sunday. 6 for 6 beyond the three-point line. 8 for 8 from the field. 2 fo2 from the free throw line. Perfect. He finished with a career-high 24 points to lead Iowa in scoring.

Can Iowa keep the winning streak going? The schedule gets a lot tougher the next month or so. The Hawkeyes host #6 Michigan State on Thursday night. The Spartans currently sit on top of the Big Ten standings.
