Grand Jury Clears Cedar Rapids Cop
Yesterday a Grand Jury cleared Cedar Rapids police officer Lucas Jones in the shooting of Jerime Mitchell.
The incident took place on November 1 when Officer Jones pulled over 37-year-old Mitchell for a motor vehicle infraction.
Following an altercation between the two, Mitchell was shot several times by officer Jones and remains paralyzed to this day.
Officer Jones remains on administrative leave until the investigation is complete. It is the second officer-involved shooting Jones has been embroiled in. He was cleared in the deadly November 2015 shooting of Jonathan Gossman.
