Perfect baseball weather, give or take a few drops of rain, awaits us this week, as the Kernels bring a 5-game home stand to Perfect Game Field.

Games 1-3 are against South Bend Tuesday, May 1 through Thursday, May 4, followed by a trio of games against West Michigan, each starting at 6:35 p.m. Sunday, May 6, starting at 2:05 p.m., marks another KDAT Kids Eat Free and Run The Bases Sunday, sponsored by Western Fraternal Life and Prairie Farms.

A slight change is being made this Sunday when it comes to the Run the Bases promotion. The usual post-game fun includes the chance to run the bases, play catch on the field, and meet and get autographs from the Kernel players. That will return and continue throughout the season.

This Sunday only, it is being replaced by something equally fun (and free): stick around at the end of the game for a FREE kids' homerun derby!

Again, registration for the Chuck Fulton homerun derby is free and is open to kids 12 and under.  The first 125 entries will also receive a free t-shirt. Trophies and awards will be presented in 4 different age groups.

You may pick up registration forms at the Bimm Ridder Diamond Shop or Servpro Guest Services at Veteran's Memorial Stadium on game day.
