The Iowa Football lost a member way too soon on Sunday morning. A Facebook post from the mother of Damon Bullock, Kimberly Bullock,  confirmed the 25-year-old running back had died.

Condolences from former Hawkeyes began to pour in on social media. Current NFL linebacker Christian Kirksey who played with Bullock at Iowa said, "My heart is extremely heavy right now. I love you, Damon Bullock! Rest in peace bro!" Details were initially few and far between but a clearer picture of what happened has now emerged

Damon's father, Roscoe Handy, said that his son was in a car crash just outside the family's hometown of Duncanville, Texas at around 3 a.m. Sunday. Bullock hit a light pole in the median causing all the lights nearby to go dark. Bullock parked his car and got out on the side of the road, and then wandered into the street. He was hit by a vehicle that was headed to work. The commuter stopped and stayed with Bullock until first responders arrived.

Bullock played at Iowa from 2011 to 2014. He finished his Iowa career with 1,074 yards rushing and 4 touchdowns.
