Food Truck Fridays are Coming Back to Greene Square Park

We have some amazing food trucks here in Eastern Iowa, but it can be difficult to try them because they're constantly on the move. Lucky for us, Downtown Cedar Rapids and the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance have teamed up with some of these great food trucks to make things easy. That's right, folks... Food Truck Fridays are back!

On certain Fridays this summer, local food trucks will be parked around the edges of Greene Square Park in Downtown Cedar Rapids from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Those dates include next Friday, June 7th, as well as June 21st, July 12th, July 26th, August 9th, and August 23rd.

So far, The Box Lunch, Rio Burritos, The Hungry Rooster, MooMoo’s Ice Cream, Keepin up with the Jones’s, and Moys Food From the Streets are confirmed for this season, but vendors change from week to week as more food trucks are added throughout the summer.

This year is also exciting because there is a theme each month! June's theme is called “Step into Paradise.” The city wants customers to feel like they're on vacation, so they are encouraging the food trucks to create signature dishes/drinks that fit the paradise vibe, wear some beachy clothing, and decorate with tropical décor. They have even found someone to come play the ukulele!
