David Romero, a fugitive from Putnam County, was apprehended on Monday afternoon after being caught shoplifting personal care products from Target in Palm Coast.

Upon receiving a Larceny report from Target on Moody Blvd, FCSO deputies arrived on the scene and noticed Romero attempting to flee the area in a white truck, matching the description of the suspect vehicle.

The Flagler Sheriff's Communications Section informed the deputies that the truck belonged to the registered owner who was wanted on a felony warrant in Putnam County for 3rd Degree of Grand Theft.

Stopping The Suspect

FCSO deputies conducted a high-risk traffic stop and successfully detained Romero, and during the process, they discovered a vibrating pink device falling out of his pants, which he had stolen from Target.

Deputies were provided with surveillance footage that showed Romero putting personal care items, including condoms, a vibrating device, sexual enhancement products, personal lubricant, and a t-shirt, into a tan shapewear he had picked up in the store. Additionally, he picked up some groceries, and paid for them, but walked out with the other items. The stolen items were later found in Romero's vehicle after he was taken into custody.
