Film Footage From 1993 Metallica Concert In Iowa City Surfaces
Some long lost footage has surfaced from the Metallica concert at Carver Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City.
I was at this concert on January 28th, 1993. In fact I saw them five times on this tour and each show was kind of like this. There was no opener and each show started with some behind-the-scenes live footage. I think they were taking a page from the WWF (long before they became WWE).
Watching this show brings back some nostaglia for me. It's great to relive it all over again. I can remember who I was with, the sound, and even the smell of the arena.
Metallica has played a total of 16 shows in Iowa, with the most recent being June 9th, 2017.
I can't wait for things to get back to normal, so hopefully they come around here again.
