If you've taken a drive on Interstate 80 in the Altoona area lately, you've probably seen the massive Facebook data center. It consists of six buildings, encompassing a grand total of 2.5 million square feet. The total cost? One-point-five billion dollars. Facebook isn't stopping there.

According to KCRG, the largest Facebook construction site in the world is likely going to get bigger. Officials in Altoona say Facebook wants to put a long-term plan in place that will build three additional buildings, followed by an H style. It could keep construction workers at the site for an entire decade.

Altoona Mayor Dean O'Connor says,

I've heard from landowners they're looking at land, and I've heard from landowners they're wanting to sell to them. If we work out the details of the development agreement, this will be very good for the city.

The next step is the Altoona City Council approving a development agreement. If that happens, Facebook will likely put together a plan for the site and the moving of dirt could soon follow.
