Going into its 30th year of raising awareness of the importance of early detection and funds to fight breast cancer, the "Especially for You" race switches gears and goes virtual in 2020.

As they say on their website, breast cancer doesn't stop for COVID-19 and neither does this race. Register now. You'll still get a t-shirt and the option to run or walk on Sunday, October 11 at the location of your choice, whether it be through your neighborhood, an area trail, or even your own treadmill at home, following CDC social distancing guidelines. Thousands of people participate in this race every year, in solidarity for those who suffer from breast cancer.

Registration is just $30 for adults, $15 for youth 15 and younger. Sign up for the virtual 5K Run, the virtual 5K Walk, or the Family Fun Run. Get more details here, where you can also simply donate or volunteer.

The virtual FAQ will answer all your questions, including where to pick up your pre-race materials. According to the Especially for You website, breast cancer is most treatable and curable when detected in its earliest stages. Breast cancer claims an estimated 39,620 lives each year. This number can be reduced with early detection through clinical breast exams and mammography.

This event has helped over 10,000 people get access to over 21,000 services to help in their breast cancer fight. You're encouraged to join this journey, as it's likely you or someone you know is among them.
