On Friday, June 22nd, Dubuque County man Nick Miller proposed to his girlfriend Lauren Timmerman. After the successful proposal, Miller headed out the next morning to work cattle.

On his way into work, he made a stop for breakfast at a Casey's located at 717 First Ave. E. in Cascade. After snagging a piece of breakfast pizza and a coffee he also grabbed a ticket to play the Super 7s Progressive InstaPlay, according to the Iowa Lottery.

This ticket that the Bernard man purchased proved to be the winning one. His total lottery prize ended up making him $390,191 richer than when he left his home that Saturday morning.

Maybe he should have waited until AFTER winning nearly $400K to propose to his girlfriend....

Miller farms with the rest of his family and works for Rail-Way Inc, according to reports. He and his new fiancé were also headed out to Florida for a week long trip, so he had to keep it quiet until he got back.

"Once in a while I would second-guess myself, and be like, 'I hope that was the winning ticket,'" he told lottery officials.

What will the newly engaged Dubuque man be using his nearly $400,000 lottery prize on?

"There is the wedding and a house to start doing some work on," he said. "It will definitely go a long way towards both of those."
